This is a dream I had recently, it took me a couple of days to share it with Jim, and even more to share with you. It is a very tender dream, but powerful at the same time.
In the dream the world was in chaos and my life was also. People were hiding and in fear. People were getting killed if they would not deny Jesus Christ. I was with my husband Jim and I was put before those that insisted on us denying Christ. Of several men that were before us, one held a machete. I would be killed instantly if I would not deny my savior Jesus Christ.
As I stood before them, my son Tex was there, in spirit, telling me that it would be ok. He was there for us and then my mother was there also. They were giving us comfort and assurance that I was going to be just fine. I turned to look at Jim and he was not doing well.
Jim was really beside himself and was fighting with his guards, he was determined to save his wife, telling them to take his life instead, and so on. I looked at Jim and told him that Tex and my mom were there, and assured him it was going to be alright, and to not lose the faith. We would be together with Tex and my mom shortly.
Then when asked if I believed in Christ, I answered, “Yes, I believe in Christ.” Tex and my mom held their hands out to me, the machete fell on my neck and in an instant I was with them. It didn’t even hurt, it was so smooth, I was so surprised. Dying was so easy and simple, and I felt just wonderful.
The lesson of this dream is quite straightforward. Our faith will be challenged, maybe not in such a dramatic way, but it will be challenged, without a doubt. Those loved ones that have gone before us will be there to help us, not only will they be there; but our Savior will as well, as he was for Peter as he stepped out of the boat and walked on the water to meet Jesus. We just need to keep the faith, not doubting and “Come what may” we will be in the loving arms of our Savior and our loved ones.
